About Consequencing

Keith DoyleMy name is Keith Doyle. I am a Senior Usability Analyst at HBOS, based in Halifax. It’s a great place to work, as we have a user experience and design team, and a dedicated usability lab, which a great bunch of staff who have years of experience in the field.

I am passionate about information architecture and the emotional user experience. I can pay annoying attention to detail, but my colleagues remind me that ‘best is the enemy of good’. I am developing a resource for information architecture and the user experience at extremeusability.com.

In my previous roles, I was the Web Content Architect at the University of Salford. I was also on the advisory group for the Institutional Web Management Workshop 2007. Before Salford, I was webmaster at Manchester College of Arts and Technology. The site I managed was nominated for a national marketing award in 2005. Before that, I was web author at Hollings Faculty, Manchester Metropolitan University. I was an early web adopter, developing a brochureware site for NUSSL in 1995.

My background is programming. I’m still pretty good at MS Access and can hack PHP and MySQL. My obsessive personality which led me to write efficient code drives me now to develop efficient websites.

There are a few photos of me on flickr.
