I was reading about the problems that Kathy Sierra has been having with her blog comments. Creating Passionate Users is a great blog for thinking about the user experience with some very witty cartoons. I should download them before the site is taken offline! According to the BBC, some experts are calling for a blogger’s code of conduct.
The whole thing remind me of a friend of mine who used to live in Moss Side in Manchester, England right by Maine Road, which is Manchester City Football Club’s ground. He said that when the houses were built, there was one key for every house on the street. I suspect that after the first burglary, rather than insisting that the local community follow a code of conduct, everyone went out and bought themselves a new lock. The situation also reminds me of the boxer with a broken arm who refuses to go out. People pick on him while he is an easy target.
